Full Job Description

  • Education/License: Licensed RN or LVN in the State of Texas.
  • Experience: Preferred prior experience in a chemical dependence treatment setting.
  • Certifications: CPR
  • Licenses: RN or LVN in the State of Texas
  • Special Requirements: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a team member
  • Age / Gender Specifics: Ability to work with male and female, adult substance abuse population.

Reports all alleged incidents of abuse or neglect to HHSC as set forth by §448.

Adheres to patient rights as outlined in licensure manual.

Completes an initial health assessment, or confirms necessary H&P and medical documentation in client’s medical chart.

Assists in identification of medical, emotional, and social needs of the client throughout the treatment process.

Assesses medical and psychological problems reporting significant findings to the physician or appropriate counselor.

Documents change in conditions/ behaviors, health issues, etc.…

Notifies family or responsible party for health issues, change in condition or other pertinent information regarding the client.

Meets with and addresses client concerns (i.e.: non-emergency, medical request forms, etc..)

Requests random urine tests for clients and staff and files reports.

Obtains written and telephone orders from physician and documents them appropriately.

Assists Medical Director in uploading pertinent notes and other medical related documents, collecting data, performing assessments, and providing education to clients regarding medical care.

Reviews and organizes all medical files.

On-call (scheduled days)24 hours a day for medical assistance, guidance, etc.…to support clients/staff/technicians (unless otherwise specified and appropriate coverage in place).

Assists in the supervision of monitored self-medication program and provides appropriate education to staff and clients in the treatment program.

Coordinates outside medical appointments.

Offers educational training on STDs, HIV, Smoking Cessation and Narcan.

Completes Incident Reports, in-services and coaching notes for personnel files.

Maintains inventory of medical and pharmaceutical supplies.

Participates in ongoing trainings, seminars, and staff meeting submitting reports as needed.

Supervises activities and job performance of Clinical Assistant.

Assumes role of RCT supervisor while on duty.

Men’s Sober Living House Manager (Live In)

Hyde Park / North Austin

Department: Clinical/ Administrative
Responsible to: Clinical Director

Primary Duties: Coordinates and assists in the smooth operation of various processes that contribute to the services of the organization to achieve its objectives for Sober Living clientele.

Minimum Training and Experience:
1. Education – High School Diploma.
2. Experience – Knowledge of the disease of chemical dependency and 12-Step Recovery program.
3. Licenses- CPR

Special Requirements:
1. Basic computer skills.
2. Approachable individual with a professional manner.
3. Methodical in approach to tasks.
4. Self motivated and able to work on own initiative.
5. Effective time management with the ability to multi-task.
6. Team player and able to communicate at all levels.
7. Ability to analyze and problem solve.
8. Knowledge of available community resources.
9. Age / Gender Specifics – Ability to work with male/female adult substance abuse population.

Working Environment:
Living space will be provided, along with any office supplies and equipment needed to perform the described. Individual may have a full-time day job.

Physical / Emotional Demands / Working Conditions:
1. Work is sedentary and ambulant. Occasional physical exertion (lifting 30 or more pounds, walking, standing, etc.).
2. Work involves some travel for facility management. Coping skills required for dealing with emergency
situations. Exposed to risk of accident while traveling for facility. Quality of hearing (whether natural or with
accommodation) must be acceptable due to frequent conversations with clients and client family members.

Weekend Chef / Cook

Shifts Available for Chef/Cook Part-time

Job Description:

Part time/ weekend shifts available for chef/cook position at residential treatment center (The Arbor) in Georgetown, TX.

2 years experience with healthy food as a personal chef /cook or in a medical facility a plus but not mandatory.

Weekend hours with possible flex weekday hours.

Knowledge of the 12 Step Program a plus.

Under the direction of the Executive Chef, in executing all aspects of food production and service to ensure quality meals to The Arbor clientele.

Must be able to work independently.

Recovery Care Technician

Part Time (All weekend & evening weekend shifts) RCT

Job Description:

The Arbor Behavioral Healthcare in Georgetown, Tx is hiring part time Recovery Care Technicians. Below are the duties and qualifications needed for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reconciles and audits all resident medication records.
  • Inventories all over the counter medications for facility.
  • Reports all medical incidents and/or concerns to Nursing.
  • Conducts resident and facility safety checks.
  • Communicates client behaviors with counseling staff/coordinators.
  • Responds to problems and crisis according to facility procedures and behavior management guidelines.
  • Various administrative and clerical duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • High School diploma and a working knowledge of 12-Step Program and Support Groups (A.A., C.A.) a plus.
  • Interest and/or knowledge in chemical dependency.
  • Ability to model appropriate boundaries.
  • A valid Texas Drivers License.
  • A good driving record.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office / Outlook experience preferred)

Salary – $15/ hr with $1/hr shift differential for overnight shifts
