Consider A Retreat With Us To Rest And Restore

We know that life can be extremely overwhelming at times. When this happens, it’s important to have the self-awareness to recognize it and allow yourself to take time to rest and restore. This can be done with us at Arbor Behavioral Healthcare. Think about how long it has been since you had time to yourself. It’s probably been way too long, right? Come learn and grow with us. Continue reading to learn more about creating time for yourself and how that fits in with us here.

UCLA’s Study on Support Networks

“A study done by UCLA found those who have a good support network and spend time with same-sex friends experienced an increase in the release of oxytocin, a stress-relieving hormone that can increase life expectancy, as well as help us to relax,” reports Sarah Gane, author of “Time for you (and a few friends).” If you’re feeling stressed as of late, try to carve out some time in your schedule to sit down with a friend for an extended period of time. You will benefit greatly from their company. “Connecting, sharing experiences, and simply enjoying conversations can be incredibly empowering,” says Gane. She’s right! We know you’re busy, but try to set aside this time for yourself and a friend.

Take a Break

If you’re not feeling restored after time with a good friend, it may be time to think about spending some time alone. Withdrawing in a healthy manner isn’t a bad thing. We all need time alone. Take some time today, even if it’s just an hour or so, to practice a hobby or do something else you love. You don’t want time alone to feel like a chore. Make it fun!
