Can You Be Addicted to Sugar?

Unfortunately, consuming excess sugar has been connected to many adverse effects including heart disease, diabetes, cancer risk, pain from inflammation, and depression.  

How to Combat Sugar Cravings

You may want to start by turning to healthier sweet alternatives when a craving strikes, such as fruit, or even sweet vegetables like carrots and peas.  Choosing diet products that are sweetened with artificial chemicals is not always the best option, as these foods and beverages can perpetuate cravings and may carry health risks of their own.  Many people who abuse alcohol develop sugar cravings when they attempt to quit drinking due to the high sugar content of alcohol.
